We handle mobile home demolition in New Iberia and across Acadiana, from old single-wides to double-wides. The home comes down in sections, and every piece leaves in roll-off containers or on our dump trailers. You end up with a clean lot, ready for a new home, a house pad or a sale. Estimates are free and done on site, so call (337) 201-0594 to set one up.
The job takes in skirting, steps, add-on porches and decks, plus any carport or awning attached to the home. The steel frame and axles leave too, along with the tie-downs, anchors and block piers or runners. We do the work with mini excavators, a compact track loader and dump trailers, from New Iberia across Acadiana. A stick-built home falls under house demolition instead.
Tell us about the job and we’ll get right back to you.
Every job starts with a free look at the home. We check its size, what is attached to it and how the machines will get in. Soft ground, fences and tight spots all change the plan. You get a price before anything comes down.
Power, water, gas and sewer get shut off and disconnected first. The utility or a plumber or electrician handles that, and we start once they finish. We also put in the Louisiana 811 notice, since the state's dig law covers demolition as well as digging. It goes in 48 to 120 hours ahead, not counting weekends and holidays.
Skirting, steps and add-ons come off first. The mini excavator then takes the home down in sections and loads the pieces as it goes. The frame and axles go with the load, and tie-downs, anchors and block piers or runners come out last. Hometown Demolition Contractors says the demolition itself can be done in less than a day.
A home that is still sound may be worth moving. Hauling a home away in one piece is a move, and a mobile home moving company does that work. Inside New Iberia city limits, moving a mobile home into, out of, or within the city takes a moving permit. The permit asks for the name of the company moving the home.
A move out of the city, or within it, first needs approval from the City of New Iberia Tax Department. The city says that step is there to make sure all taxes on the mobile home are paid in full. Ask the city about both steps before you book a mover.
When the floors are soft, the roof leaks or a fire has gone through, the home may be past saving. That is when mobile home demolition makes sense. We take the home down where it sits, so nothing has to survive a trip down the road.
Inside New Iberia city limits, a demolition goes through the city's Inspection Department. When the demolition permit is issued, the city asks how the construction debris will be disposed of. Outside city limits, the Iberia Parish Permit Office covers structures in the rest of the parish. In another parish, the local permit office for that address is the place to ask.
LDEQ's asbestos rule for demolition exempts a residential building with four or fewer dwelling units. The exemption holds only if the building is not what LDEQ calls an installation, or part of one. The job also cannot be part of a planned commercial or public project. And the building cannot be intentionally burned.
A home that local government has declared a public nuisance still qualifies, LDEQ says. That changes if the home is part of a larger planned project. Questions about the exemption go to LDEQ's Office of Environmental Compliance. If you suspect asbestos in the home, an asbestos abatement contractor accredited by LDEQ handles that material before we start.
Once the home is gone, the lot may still hold concrete or outbuildings. An old slab, concrete runners or a patio beside the home can come out through concrete slab and patio removal. A freestanding shed or carport can come down on the same job with shed and carport demolition.
A replacement home needs a level, firm spot to sit on. Our mobile home pads get the ground ready for it. If you plan to sell, the lot is clean and ready to show.
Inside New Iberia city limits, check the timing with the city before the old home comes down. The city's moving sheet covers this. A mobile home moved onto a private lot must replace one that was there within the last six months. The new home's electrical, plumbing and air conditioning hookups must be done by contractors registered with the city.

View DetailsCompact excavators and a track loader work in town lots, back yards and farm gates. Tight access rarely stops a job, and the ground takes less damage than it would under bigger machines.
We live and work here, so Iberia Parish and the towns around it are short runs. Estimates happen fast and the machines show up when the schedule says they will.
Teardown, stumps, dirt, culvert, driveway: the same outfit can carry a property from overgrown or condemned to pad-ready. One schedule and one number instead of four subcontractors.
We price after looking at the property, the access and the ground. You get a real number before work starts, and the site is left clean when it ends.
